Last night we went with my brother and sister in-law to a Cardinals game and watched them smash Pittsburgh. Woohoo! Here are a a few pictures…

Right now Jessica is running and I’m blogging at the park we visited in the last Road Trip post. I got a picture of some baby ducks eating breakfast and a warning sign that made me laugh (looks like the drawing was made in 1969, so that explains some things).

Ok. So it’s been a month since the recital, but I finally got a few selections uploaded. It’s pretty quiet, so you’ll need to crank the volume.

If you want a CD or MP3s of the recital, let us know in the comments.
Enjoy.

Danza de Jalisco for Two Pianos - Aaron Copland

Valses (after Schubert) - Sergei Prokofiev

Stop number two of our trip brings us to St. Louis (or “The Lou” if you’re down with that) to visit my family. Today We went with my dad and niece to a park near by my parents. My niece did not want to get off the swings…. I think she’s addicted! We’re trying to find a good psychologist for it. :)

I also made friends with the local water foul.

Ok I’m all caught up now. We’re going to a Cardinal’s game tonight so I’ll have more pictures from that.

Our fist stop was Jessica’s family in Springfield, MO. We were able to attend Charles’s (Jessica’s brother) high school graduation and Rachael’s (Jessica’s sister) baby shower. Here are some photo’s of Charles’s graduation…

Charles will be heading to England this fall to attend Capernwray… I’m so jealous!!!

Road Trip!!!

May 23rd, 2007

Jessica and I are traveling around the eastern half of the U.S. to see family. We’ll be visiting MO, IN, NC, and TN in the span of two weeks. I think Google Maps clocked us at somewhere around 3,000 mi for this trip. So we’ll need an oil change when we get home. I just hope I don’t get burnt out on driving too soon. Since we’re already on the trip I’ll play catch up in the next few posts.

Sad Day

May 16th, 2007

Well, Monday was definitely a Sad Day. I got the news that my one and only faithful little car Zippy died. *tears tears tears* :( He was my first and only car and he met a tragic and untimely end with only 125k miles on him. Although if you were looking strictly at age, he was definitely due (he was 17)! The brief version of the story is that he and I were driving home from work a couple of weeks ago when a storm blew up. It had been storming here so much that as soon as it started raining, it started flooding. I came up on an intersection where I saw many cars stalled out and almost completely covered in water, so I turned around to find another way home. Alas, the other way was flooded too and I realized too late that the street we were on was heading down hill and I couldn’t turn around because the force of the water was pushing Zippy and I into an intersection so flooded that there were rapids and the water was rushing over the front hood of Zippy. We got picked up by the current, spun around a few times in the intersection and by the mercy of God were pushed over to the side of the street where we were able to get some traction. Amazingly, Zippy was still running, so I gunned him up into someone’s driveway, got out of the car, asked the very nice elderly couple who’s driveway I was in if I could wait out the storm in their house to which they immediately and kindly agreed. Even more amazingly was that after the storm blew over and the water receded, Zippy started up yet AGAIN and got me home.

But after that, he didn’t start. :( We had to use our neighbor’s van to jump start him to get him to the mechanic where he sat for a couple of weeks while they tried valiantly to save him. But there was just way too much damage and we had to let him go. So, even though he died young he died a very noble death:)

And we didn’t waste time in replacing him *shock*:) Yesterday we bought a 98 civic to replace him. Andrew’s going to drive that car since it’s older than the 01 civic he had been driving (he puts 70 miles a day on his car) and I’m going to take ownership of the 01 civic since I drive fewer miles a day.

So now the question is, what to name the black 01 civic…..? Suggestions?
